It’s probably unusual to find a pair of brothers like us – Joe and Patrick Neate – drawn to the same profession, but we both feel that being butchers is a vocation.
We were born and raised in Westbury. After school Joe completed a butcher apprenticeship at Morrisons, while Patrick got his first taste of being a butcher at Planks Farm Shop, and later Farleigh Road Farm Shop. We were both working at Downland Produce (catering butchers) when we decided to open our own shop.
We wanted our business to have the character, charisma and craft associated with traditional local butcheries, and bring a modern twist to the tables of homes and businesses in the area.
We took over an existing butchery business in the High Street in Westbury, Wiltshire, in 2022. We’ve worked hard to establish Butcher Bros as the community suppliers of high quality locally sourced meat and hand-made meat products without it costing the earth.
Our reputation for being THE place to come in the Westbury area for marvellous meat has grown along with our customer base.
We believe in the personal touch, so don’t be afraid to ask for something special – like a particular cut of meat, or unusual seasoning in your sausage.
Whether its people who care about the quality of what they cook, or orders from local caterers and pub landlords who are working on events and festivals, we’ve got you covered with the finest range of local produce.
Not only are we discerning about the quality and source of the meat we sell at Butcher Bros, but we’re also very knowledgeable when it comes to how we handle it.
Joe has achieved a NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation, while Patrick has a Level 3 in Food Safety, so it’s not surprising that our store consistently has a Food Hygiene Rating of 5 from the Food Standards Agency – the highest that can be awarded.

To save you a trip to town, we are happy to take orders for delivery within a 10-mile radius. Our mixed meat boxes are particularly popular. We also have seasonal game available if you are looking for something special, and we make delicious sausages, burgers, kebabs and various other meat products on a daily basis, guaranteed freshness.
We’ve already earned a collection of five-star reviews online, and our social media is busy with thousands of followers. What we enjoy the most, however, is getting to know our customers in person, and enjoying a chat while we serve you at the counter.
